Snake
How to Play Snake, and a Few Tips
Steer the snake into food to grow one segment longer and earn points. Hitting a wall or your own body ends the run instantly, and the snake won't reverse directly into itself — a built-in safeguard against dying to your own tail.
Use the arrow keys on desktop, or swipe inside the board in the direction you want to go on mobile.
Each piece of food is worth 100 points by default. Every time your total score crosses a 3,000-point milestone, food eaten after that is worth 50 points more — the longer your snake gets, the more each bite is worth.
Movement speed climbs right alongside your score, too. Every 1,000-point milestone shaves a little off the interval between moves, though it never gets faster than a fixed floor — the back half of a good run demands much quicker reactions than the start.
Look a couple of moves ahead before every turn, and if you need to backtrack, turn sideways first rather than trying to flip direction outright.
As you grow longer, move in wide loops that keep open space around you instead of cutting into tight corners.
Simply surviving matters less than how efficiently you chain food together — plan your route to the next piece before you get there.
Since speed climbs with your score, get in the habit of using the full width of the board early, before the snake gets long enough that a late scramble traps you.
